This unique hand-carved hunter is by Iñupiaq artist Fred Nayokpok from the village of Shismaref, Alaska. It is made from fossilized whalebone. Walrus ivory and baleen are inlaid around the edge of the hunters tunic and pants. The hunter carries a seal skin bag and a baleen harpoon with an bone tip.
The piece measures approximately 13.5″ high by 9″ wide and 5″ deep.
