Sandra Victorino began making pottery when she was 10 years old. She was inspired by her grandmother and also her aunt, the late and noted potter, Dorothy Torivi. Sandra has been winning awards for her fine pottery since 1986. Each piece Sandra makes is coil built and then painted with bee-weed, a plant used to create the black (or brownish) coloration against the white clay. The red is a native clay slip.
The fine line painting on this vase includes her Checkerboard, Clouds and Rain Swirl Design.
The piece measures 6″ high by 7″ diameter
